FEEDBACK Tables and PROFILES – is it a dream?

RUNSTATS has always been a challenge in terms of what Syntax to use, which Statistics you need to collect and how frequently to collect these statistics. The past couple of Db2 releases have introduced some interesting features which can assist you in several ways to both automate the whole process as well as to figure out which Statistics the Optimizer would like to see in order to give it the best opportunity to choose a better access path. This session will explain RUNSTATS Profiles and the two different FEEDBACK tables populated by the Optimizer which can help you decide which statistics to collect.
