Online SQL profiling

During the session we will focus on correlating information observed in optimizer explain plan, with runtime characteristics of the SQLs running on the system. Will look to share method which will let us identify explain plan operators which are consuming most of the CPU on running SQL.

Uniqueness of the method is related to fact that we analyze SQLs running on the system instead of static analysis before SQL is actually executed.

Having knowledge on on above allows DB administrators / SQL developers to identity bottlenecks in plan execution, and take corrective actions to prevent future issues. Method is especially useful for big plans containing hundreds of operators, where manual analysis is ineffective and time consuming.
